PONDA: It’s risky to travel on the potholed ridden road on the Borim bridge and locals have demanded that it be hot-mixed immediately.
Locals say that the bridge was constructed in 1986 and has been overused due to diversion of heavy traffic from the Zuari bridge for the last 10 years.
Sunil Naik, a resident of the area said that it was a nightmare to ride on this bridge and hence they were requesting the government to construct a parallel bridge here.
The bridge is used by vehicles commuting from Margao, Karwar, Mangalore, Bangalore besides vehicles towards Belgaum.
The employees commuting daily from Ponda on Margao travel on bikes and face hardships while trying to avoid potholes.
