PONDA: Borim locals at the gram sabha passed a resolution extending the time limit for filing their replies including suggestions and objections to land acquisition notice published by the government from 21 days to three months.
It may be recalled that a few days ago, the government had published a notice for a land acquisition plan to construct the Borim Bridge passing through the village. The villagers demanded that NHAI officials should explain and understand the plan of bridge construction and the approach road passing from through the village.
The villagers claimed that they have no idea of the plan and want to know whether any houses and shops will be affected due to the approach road for the new Borim Bridge. They said that only survey numbers have been published which do not provide a clear picture on the bridge and road widening plan. They demanded that the authorities visit the Borim Panchayat and explain to them the Borim Bridge plan in detail at gram sabha.
The farmers also submitted 13 suggestions for framing the agriculture policy. The villagers demanded that the condition of internal roads which are in bad shape worsen due to the monsoon be improved.
The villagers demanded the removal of the rumble strips along the road at Top Cola, Borim as they claimed that they have been compelled to spend sleepless nights due to the movement of heavy vehicles. The locals suggested the construction of speed breakers. The villagers suggested against taking any hasty decision to hike the house tax.
They asked the panchayat to delay the decision and wait for other panchayats.
