PONDA: The Borim Sarpanch Bhavana Naik and villagers have complained that they have been facing frequent power cuts lasting for hours and sometime for days.
In a written complaint to the Executive Engineer Suresh Wadekar on Thursday, the villagers complained that they are undergoing hardship due to frequent power cuts lasting for hours and sometime for days.
In their complaint, the villagers said that due to power failure, their children are unable to prepare for exams and that they cannot keep away the mosquitoes and get a good sleep.
It is learnt that not only Borim, but also the villages of Kavlem, Talavlim, Bandora and even Ponda town and surrounding areas are witnessing frequent power failures.
Borim Panch Sunil Sawakar said that their normal life is affected due to frequent power failures.
According to the villagers, on receiving the complaint, Wadekar assured them that he would look them into their problems.
An Adpoi local Prashant Naik said that the village is without power for over a week.
