Mapusa: Mapusa MLA Joshua D’Souza as well as Sudhir Kandolkar expressed confidence over forming of next Mapusa municipal council by taking support from the two independent candidates.
When contacted Mapusa MLA D’Souza said, “The results in some of the wards especially in ward 8, 13 and 18 are shocking. We had expected at least 12 to 13 seats however losing in these three wards was unexpected. I can’t really understand the reason for this because in some wards it was on popularity level. We are going to form the next Council and it is our goal with support of the two independent candidates. We are already in talk with them.”
Councillor and head of Mhapshekarancho Ekvot Sudhir Kandolkar said,” People of Mapusa have shown trust in us by giving us mandate against BJP. We are thankful to the people of Mapusa. We have nine candidates and we have received positive response from the two independent candidates and we are going to form the next council after having proper discussion with them. All the issues and development works especially sewerage project and tar issue will be taken on priority”.
