MARGAO: There was a major incident reported in Belloy Nuvem late Sunday evening after a residential area was ransacked and property like two wheelers damaged.
According to eye witnesses, the incident took place around 7.30 pm when known bouncers of the village attacked the house and the residents.
While the police rushed to the site to maintain law and order they have maintained that they are carrying out further investigations in the
incident.
However, neighbours and Nuvem residents are upset about the matter and say they should not be living in fear of the bouncers.
Neighbours have alleged that one Sameer Naik was involved in Sunday’s case and said that people do not wish to come out in public against the accused as the accused enjoy political patronage. Complaints in the past have been filed against the behaviour of those involved in Sunday’s assault case for playing loud music at night, drinking and anti social behaviour much to the dismay of the peaceful neighbourhood, but no authority has taken any action in the filed complaints.
