curchorem: The retaining and boundary wall of the under construction new building of Guardian Angel Institute of Hotel Management and Catering Technology, Curchorem collapsed on the nearby house on Tuesday night due to the continuous rainfall.
According to Quepem Mamlatdar Rosario Carvalho, the incident occurred at around 11.30 pm and luckily no casualties were reported but the kitchen of the house was badly damaged causing an estimated loss of around Rs. 50,000. “As per available information that house is belongs to Alcin Fernandes and luckily no one was present in the kitchen at the time of the incident.” Informed Carvalho
The Principal of the Institution Fr. Joaquim Rebello said that he immediately visited the site after getting information of wall collapsed from the neighbours and later they informed the police and the emergency services. “It was very unfortunate and sudden incident occurred during the night time but we are very grateful to God that no injury of life has taken place although the kitchen was badly damaged,” said Fr. Rebello
