PANJIM: The victims of the All Brand Promotion scam, who were duped of thousands of rupees, are dissatisfied with the manner the police investigation is being conducted.
Speaking to Herald, the victims said that the police have been conducting investigation into the scam for almost three months, but still they managed to crack the case.
“Recently a police teams had been sent to Allahabad, Mumbai and New Delhi, but they returned empty handed,” said a victim
The victims said that they have decided to come together and decide on the future course of action. They also called for registering a case against the banks in which accounts were opened without proper verification.
The Economic Offences Cell (EOC) have however stated that the main accused Muzzabil Tajdar, had obtained six SIM cards fraudulently by providing fake and faulty documents, out of which four of the SIM cards had been taken under his name using his fake identity, while the other two were registered under two different persons similarly by using fake documents.
“We have identified the two persons in whose name the main accused Tajdar had registered simcards, after interrogation the two stated that they were totally unaware of the fact how the main accused Tajdar got access to their identity cards”
Meanwhile, Goa Police has issued search notices to various police stations in the country. With the help of Mumbai Police, the Goa Police had traced the addresses of the accused as mentioned on their ID cards, but these turned out to be fake.
