CURTORIM: Fourteen-year-old student of Moti Dongor, Margao taken by his uncle on his scooter on the pretext of plucking mangoes in a lonely place and thrown in a well having depth of about 12 metres made brave efforts for almost two hours and managed to come out of well and thus saved his life.
While making an attempt to come up the teenager fell down thrice in the water but did not give up and succeeded to climb out on the fourth try.
Police said that the level of the water was very low and there was mud inside the well.
As per statement made by the boy to the police, on May 31 when he was playing with his friends at home, his uncle Basavraj Kagi, resident of Tolsanzor Moti Dongor, took him on his bike to a lonely place in Curtorim near the Leprosy hospital on the pretext of plucking some mangoes and pushed him into the well.
The boy thereafter followed a dog and reached a house where he explained how his uncle had fooled him and threw him in the well.
The family provided him food, rest and clothes.
