CURCHOREM: After issuing the relieving order to the team of National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) which was at Curchorem to conduct the rescue and search operation, the Deputy Collector of Dharbandora Agnelo Fernandes, who was holding additional charge of Quepem division, said that situation has come back to normal.
“In my report submitted to the South Goa District Administration, I have recommended the names of two youth Amar Sanvodekar and Suleman Ghori for bravery award and government job as they saved 5 lives by risking their own life,” said Fernandes and informed that the death toll could have risen if the locals had not put in their efforts.
Speaking to the media he said that he has relieved the last team of NDRF headed by Inspector Shakeel and all other teams called for rescue operation as three bodies were retrieved from the river.
