Briton found dead in room at Colomb

CANACONA, JAN 17
A 54-year-old British national was found dead in a rented room at Colomb beach on Friday.
Canacona police identified the deceased as Robbie Peter Downes, who was staying with his wife Sheila Thwaites in a room belonging to one Sudhakar Komarpant of Colomb.
Police later sent the body for an autopsy at Hospicio in Margao and ruled out any foul play into the death of the Briton. According to another source, the wife has reportedly given a statement that her husband was heavily drunk the previous night and had gone to sleep without any food. Canacona police has registered a case of unnatural death under Section 174 CrPC and investigation is in progress by PSI Prassanna Bhagat under the supervision of PI Suraj Halarnkar.
