specially, for the children and senior citizens. The concrete slabs that cover the drains are seen broken at several places in the city. The concrete slabs have even become weak at numerous places with the iron rods exposed. Stepping on these weak slabs can be risky affair as the pedestrian can land in the drain. Such broken slabs are also seen outside the children park and across the road opposite the Vasco Municipal building. At several places, the drains are left open with no concrete slabs covering them. These open drains pose a risk to the pedestrians specially, at night. The authorities concerned need to do a total survey of the uncovered drains and those with broken concrete slabs and cover them with new ones. This needs to be done on a war-footing before someone gets badly hurt by falling into these drains.
