Mohammed Usman Gaffar, a 22-year-old resident of Joquim Ghateshwar Nagar, Khorlim, Mapusa, Bardez, North Goa, and a native of Uttar Pradesh was attacked by two unidentified assailants while he was out for a walk. The brutal assault left Gaffar with severe injuries, prompting an urgent response from authorities.
According to eyewitnesses, the assailants confronted Gaffar, initiating a violent altercation that quickly escalated into a physical assault. The situation took a terrifying turn when one of the attackers brandished a sharp knife, inflicting grievous wounds upon Gaffar.
Gaffar fled the scene and was subsequently rushed to North Goa District Hospital by his brother. However, given the extent of his injuries, medical professionals deemed it necessary to transfer him to the Goa Medical College (GMC) for specialized treatment.
Reports indicate that Gaffar sustained extensive injuries, requiring over 65 stitches across his entire body. In response to the incident, the Mapusa Police launched a thorough investigation and registered a complaint against the 2 assailants. The motive behind the attack remains under investigation as authorities work to identify and apprehend the individuals responsible for this heinous act.
