Joyson Fernandes, a resident of Curchorem-Cacora, suffered a vicious assault at a Periudok-Sanvordem bar when a mob of roughly 30 to 35 people attacked him while he was dining. Armed with iron rods, wooden sticks, choppers, and other dangerous weapons, the attackers inflicted serious injuries on Joyson, who was immediately rushed to Hospicio District Hospital in Margao for treatment.
Despite promptly lodging a complaint, police have not yet recorded Joyson’s statement, raising questions about the handling of the case. Witnesses reported that the attackers struck swiftly, leaving little time for intervention. The motive behind the violent attack is still under investigation.
