MARGAO: A BSNL cable at Aquem was accidentally cut, affecting the phone and internet connectivity of banks and houses in the area.
The cable was cut during machine trenching work for laying 4G cables; the work is presently going on at several places in Margao.
The local BSNL linesman has informed that it will take at least four days to get the cable reconnected.
The cable was cut opposite the Carmelite Monastery, affecting around five banks and several hundred shops in the vicinity.
The cable cut has affected residents, banks and shops from Vishant theatre till part of Aquem.
Several locals have expressed disbelief over the bad planning and the trouble they have to go through due to the mistake of the contractors.
