PANJIM: Claiming that his Budget is been hailed across cross-sections including media, Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant on Friday said that Budget is “100 per cent implementable”.
Sawant on Thursday presented revenue surplus budget with the outlay of Rs 21,056.35 crore. Resumption of mining activities, promotion of hinterland, eco and medical tourism, ease of doing business, as top priorities of the Government for the coming financial year.
“Budget is realistic and 100 per cent implementable. The cross sections of citizens and the media have lauded the Budget on Thursday when it was present on the floor of the House,” Chief Minister told media persons.
“The Budget is without any burden on common man and it is for the sustainable development of Goa. We have ensured that all the sections are benefitted,” he added.
Sawant said that the Budget has special attention towards “ease of doing business” by focusing on fine tuning of State-run Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) – Investment Promotion Board (IPB).
“The Budget has kept in mind the growth of the industrial sector.  The measures proposed in the Budget will help in ease of doing business for the industries,” he said.
Sawant on Thursday presented the Budget amidst protests by Opposition benches who were condemning mid-night arrest of Independent MLA Rohan Khaunte. Opposition slammed Chief Minister for presenting Budget in their absence.
Reacting to the incident, Sawant said that the Opposition benches did not wanted him to present the Budget. “They were trying to stall the Budget of the State that is why, they were in the Well of the House shouting slogans,” he said.
