Budgetary provision made for Griha Aadhar scheme: Sudin

Transport Minister Sudin Dhavlikar has stated that the State government has made adequate budgetary provision to ensure that there is no discrimination among beneficiaries of the schemes.

PONDA: Transport Minister Sudin Dhavlikar has stated that the State government has made adequate budgetary provision to ensure that there is no discrimination among beneficiaries of the schemes.

He was speaking after giving sanction letters to beneficiaries of the Griha Aadhar scheme at Ponda on Friday.

“The previous government had started some schemes, but after sometime the schemes were stopped as there was no budgetary provision. But this government has made budgetary provision so that people should not suffer,” said Dhavlikar.

“There is no discrimination and beneficiaries of government schemes are affiliated to all political parties,” he said.

In his speech, Industries Minister Mahadev Naik said the government is committed to its promise and the Griha Aadhar scheme is aimed at helping the housewives to fight inflation.

Earlier, the Women and Child Development Ponda distributed 814 sanction letters to eligible women from Ponda taluka, which comprises the constituencies of Ponda (270), Priol (229), Marcaim (230) and Shiroda (85).

The letters were distributed in the presence of Dhavlikar, Ponda MLA Lavu Mamledar and Shiroda MLA Mahadev Naik. Priol MLA Deepak Dhavlikar was not present for the function.

Under the Griha Aadhar scheme, housewives, divorcees and widows will be entitled for Rs 1,000 monthly allowance towards inflation. The scheme can be availed by married woman, widow and divorcee, who is a resident of Goa for the last 15 years and the gross income should not exceed Rs 3 lakh per annum.
