Builder issued notice for hill cutting

The Margao Municipal Council (MMC) has a notice on a builder for cutting the Pajifond hillock to show cause why his construction licence should not be revoked for violating the TCP rules.
The MMC Chief Officer Y B Tawde has also lodged a complaint to the Margao police to initiate appropriate action against the builder for cutting the hillock.
MMC Chairperson Savio Coutinho has informed that the action against the builder was initiated as he did not possess the necessary permission for the hill cutting.
“The Civic body has taken serious note of the violation. That’s the reason, the Chief Officer has served a show cause notice for revocation of the construction license”, he added.
The hill cutting was going on for quite some time right under the nose of the authorities and the action follows following a complaint lodged by a local NGO.
