VASCO, APRIL 11
They may have evaded the human eye, but they could not escape from an electronic eye.
Vasco police got a lucky break in the twin burglaries in the Port town on April 5, when it received CCTV footage of burglars breaking showrooms.
While the police has refused to throw much light on the breakthrough, sources informed that the police has CCTV footage of the burglars in action.
It may be recalled that burglars had broke into an electrical appliance showroom and a footware showroom, decamping with goods worth over Rs 3 lakh and cash of Rs 54,000.
Incidentally, a restaurant located between both the burgled showrooms had installed a CCTV camera at the entrance.
The restaurant CCTV camera has captured images of about eight persons while breaking shutters of showrooms, giving a vital lead for the police to crack the case.
Though the electrical appliances showroom also had CCTV camera inside the showroom, the footage was not clear due to the darkness inside the showroom, sources told Herald.
