MARGAO: Yet another burglary has been reported in Aquem in a matter of less than 24 hours.
Burglars this time broke into a flat in the Sanyog Housing Co-operative Society and decamped with over Rs 1.50 in gold and cash. This burglary is identical to the ones that happened in Aquem areas as well as in Borda and Pedda.
The flat that was burgled had no one inside as the owner Brian Coutinho was out to his sister’s place on Monday night. According to the police, Brian left at 9 pm in the night to visit the house of his sister in Old Market and the burglary was committed during the later hours.
After neighbours informed Brian of the burglary in his flat, he complained to the police.
A gold chain, silver rings, and other ornaments worth nearly Rs 1.50 lakh were missing from the house.
