MARGAO: Burglars decamped with gold and cash worth over Rs 4 lakh from a bungalow at Colva on Monday.
This is the second incident in the same locality after a bungalow was robbed last year and the case is still not solved.
According to the owner Abhishek Gupta, the burglars gained entry after opening the main door latch with a stick and entered the bedroom on the ground floor. They broke open the cupboard and decamped with the jewellery leaving behind the imitation jewellery.
A host of robberies have been reported in Colva, Benaulim, Betalbatim and other areas, most of which have remained unsolved.
Residents are now up-in-arms and have demanded an explanation from the police for failing to trace the robbers even after going through CCTV footage of a masked man.
