Bus driver helps nab Bangla women gold snatchers

Accused trio also involved in various theft cases in Vasco and other areas

BICHOLIM: A bus driver played a crucial role in apprehending three Bangladeshi women who snatched a gold chain worth Rs one lakh from an elderly lady’s neck in Bordem, Bicholim, on Wednesday. 

The incident unfolded when Deepali Vaingankar, accompanied by the suspects, boarded the same bus from Mulgao. Upon reaching Bordem, the accused swiftly grabbed the chain from the victim’s neck. In a moment of quick thinking, the victim shouted for help, prompting the bus driver, Suraj Morajkar, to immediately stop the bus and pursue the culprits.

With the assistance of local residents, Morajkar managed to apprehend the women and then informed the Bicholim police. 

The arrested individuals have been identified as Sindhu Jaichandra (35), Salagami Kumar (50), and Sanjana Marmuttu (40), all hailing from Delhi. Further investigations revealed that these women are Bangladeshi nationals and wanted criminals involved in various theft cases in Vasco and other areas. The police have registered a case against them.
