PANJIM, DEC 17
While the state celebrates 50 years of Liberation of Goa on December 19, All Goa Bus Owners Association (AGBOA) has planned to stage dharna at Customs House in city on Liberation Day to highlight their demands.
Sudeep Tamankar, General Secretary, AGBOA speaking to Herald on Friday claimed that the government had assured them to meet their pressing demands, which have not been met till date. One of their demands is that they should be given representation on Regional Transport Authority (RTA).  The president of AGBOA has been “appointed on approval body” for subsidy scheme, however, no authority has been conferred on him.
It’s our demand that the government immediately delegates the authority letter, he said
The demand for reduction in permit fees is also on its agenda.
Tamankar said  that the recent hike effected in  permit  fees is unfair and unjust adding that the bus owners, tourist  taxi association and others,  believe that the hike in permit  fee  is not reasonable.  “Other associations will also join hands with us on December 19,” Tamankar claimed.
