Bus services to resume at Margao’s KTC bus stand from tomorrow

MARGAO: Additional Collector-I, South Goa Srinet Kothwale informed that the bus services which were shifted to SAG ground at Fatorda in view of recent public meeting of Prime Minister Narendra Modi will resume at KTC bus stand from February 9 onwards. 

Meanwhile, shops inside the KTC complex will continue to remain closed till February 8, however, all other business operations in the bus stand’s vicinity resumed on Wednesday. 

It is pertinent to note that bus service operations, besides all other business activities at the bus stand and in the surrounding areas were ordered to shut down due to security measures in view of the PM’s visit. 

However, this impacted the small business operations such as gaddas  and others.  Presently, nearly 10 shops inside the KTC bus stand continue to remain closed due to counters erected by the government pertaining to Viksit Bharat-Viksit Goa.  

Additional Collector informed that all the services at the KTC bus stand will return to normalcy from February 9.  

“The work with regard to dismantling of pandals and counters erected at KTC bus stand will start on February 8. The shops inside the complex will be allowed to operate from February 9 onwards,” he informed. 

He said that all the business activities outside the KTC bus stand have been allowed to operate from Wednesday. 

It may be recalled that earlier, few shop owners operating inside the KTC complex had requested the government to grant relaxation on shop rent as they suffered losses due to closure.
