‘Trinamool in league with BJP’
MARGAO: Independent MLA Vijai Sardessai on Thursday lambasted Trinamool Congress South Goa candidate Churchill Alemao demanding to know why he did not resign from the cabinet after the government de-notified the Dabolim parking land.
“Churchill Alemao was the cabinet minister in the government that de-notified the decision. He says that he had opposed Mopa airport when he was minister, but that the CM would not listen to him. This lame excuse is not acceptable. Churchill should have resigned at that time because this is a cabinet form of government. And if he does not agree, he cannot pretend to fight for a cause whilst remaining in the cabinet for his personal and family interests”, Vijai told the media.
The Fatorda MLA further demanded to know how Churchill now intends to stop Mopa when he did nothing to stop the airport in spite of being a senior and powerful minister and after being in power and sleeping over the Dabolim-Mopa issue for five long years.
“Would Churchill tell the people how he intends to stop Mopa by fighting all alone in Parliament when he could do nothing when he was part of the ruling government in Goa”, he asked.
On Churchill’s decision to embrace Trinamool Congress, Vijai said, “Yesterday’s Times Now reports suggest his Trinamool Congress is also doing back room deals with the BJP at the centre. Thus Churchill or his party’s anti-BJP stance is suspicious and Goans should be aware of such spoilers who are puppets on Parrikar’s strings and part of his game to divide and rule”.
