MARGAO: Buyao Theatres on Sunday launched its 17th Konkani album ‘Radio Buyao’ containing around 12 songs, with a song each sung by former PWD Minister, Churchill Alemao and Usha Sardesai, wife of Fatorda MLA Vijai Sardesai.
The album was launched by the Fatorda MLA in the presence of Churchill Alemao and others.
In his brief address, Churchill Alemao said he has written a couple of tiatr and composed many songs since his days as a seaman. He disclosed that he has written a new tiatr ‘Ami Voitai, Tumi Aeia,’ later prompting Vijai to comment whether the former PWD Minister is planning to call it a day in politics.
“I had composed this song – Good Morning, when I was a seamen working for P&O company. I had sung the song in my tiatr ‘Darun Kalliz’ which was staged at Wembley during those days,” Churchill said.
Both Churchill and Vijai complimented Sidhanath Buyao for coming out with his 17th album and showered praises on him for his contribution to enrich Konkani music and language. Buyao himself has sung a song on late Konkani writer Madhavi Sardesai in his latest album. “Many of the songs have been sung by new singers. They come from different parts of Goa,” Buyao added.
