CURCHOREM: The by-election to Devtewada-Khandiwada of Curchorem-Cacora Municipal Council (CCMC) was held without any untoward incident on Sunday.
According to Presiding Officer Santan Gomes, 896 cast their votes from 1033 registered voters to elect their local representative among the four contestants, namely, former chairperson Maruti Naik, Rucha Vasta, Prajyot Naik and Dyneshwar Khandekar.
The by-election was declared due to resignation of councillor Omkar Vasta after he got govt job.
The counting will be held on July 1 at Quepem.
