By-poll: SGF to consult party leaders in Valpoi

The Save Goa Front under the leadership of former MLA Antonio Gaonkar met at Arlem-Raia on Sunday and discussed the Valpoi by-poll.
After the meeting, SGF President Antonio Gaonkar told Herald that the party will decide on fielding of candidate for the Valpoi by-poll after consulting party workers in Valpoi.
He said a SGF delegation will go to Valpoi on Monday and consult the party leaders before taking a final decision within a day or two.
Replying to a question, he said that the SGF headed by him has received all correspondence from the Election Commission on the Valpoi by-poll. “The final decision whether the contest or whom to field as the party candidate would be decided in a day or two”, he added.
Without going into the legal issues on the High Court decision staying the EC order recognising him as the SGF president, Gaonkar said he is in receipt of all correspondence and communications from the Election Commission, indicating that he continues as the president of the SGF.
