Cabbies firm on stand

VASCO:  Taximen from various associations in Vasco remained firm on their stand to remove Goa Miles counter from the Airport and to scrap the app-based taxi service. 
Eknath Palkar president of the United Taximen Union said taximen will stay off-road until their demands are met.
At a press briefing held in Vasco on Monday, taximen from various associations showed their firm opposition to the GoaMiles service. 
Palkar threatened to continue with the protest by staying off road until their demands to scrap GoaMiles app and remove its counter at the airport are fulfilled.
Union vice president Sudesh Naik said, “Efforts are made to misguide and create a divide between taximen but I urge my fellow taximen not to fall prey to such propaganda.”
