PANJIM: The State cabinet on Tuesday approved the subsidy and incentives to Vistion Tech and Services Centre for setting up its anchor unit in Goa.
Information and Technology Minister Rohan Khaunte, briefing the media after the meeting , said Vistion will recruit 18 people who are all Goans. “All the freshers will get a salary of Rs 40,000 to 45,000 to start with. These are the type of companies we were always looking for in the State, they have now come in,” he said.
Khaunte further said that Vistion will be given available infrastructure built by STPI for a period of two years. “Incentives of reimbursements within the policy have been given, but we needed to be a little flexible in terms of incentives to them based on the competitiveness of the other States. We have ensured that by passing it in the cabinet,” he said.
Khaunte said that Vistion builds software for vehicle consoles. “Vistion’s ancillary companies have also shown keen interest in setting up shop in Goa,” he said.
Khaunte said, that of the 18-20 recruited techies in Goa, four are Goans who were working outside Goa and have now come back. “So the message is very clear what the IT policy was intending to – call back the sons of the soil,’ he said.
