Cabinet approves Rs 247 cr for Tertiary Cancer Care Centre at Bambolim

The cabinet also gave its approval to host some of the matches of the FIFA U-17 Women’s World in Goa in October this year

PANJIM: The State Cabinet on Wednesday granted ex-post facto approval to the construction work of Rs 247 crore worth Tertiary Cancer Care Centre at Goa Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), Bambolim and also gave its nod to amend the Goa Start-up Policy, 2021 and Information Technology (IT) Policy 2018.

Speaking to media persons post-cabinet meeting at the Goa Assembly Complex, Porvorim, Chief Minister Pramod Sawant said that the work of constructing the Tertiary Cancer Care Centre at a cost of Rs 247 crore was awarded to the HSCC (India) Limited, a Government of India enterprise under the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. 

Sawant said that the Cabinet approved amendments to the Goa Start-Up Policy 2021 and the IT Policy 2018, to bring more improvements. It also granted ex-post facto approval for pending PWD bills, he added.

The cabinet also gave its approval to host some of the matches of FIFA U-17 Women’s World in Goa in October this year, he said.   

The Chief Minister said that the Cabinet granted approval for the extension of schemes for empowering Scheduled Castes (SCs) and Scheduled Tribes (STs) by using information and communication tools. Further, it gave the approval to relax the appointment of personal staff in the office of Power Minister Sudin Dhavalikar.
