PANJIM: Congress rebels-turned-BJP loyalists Vishwajit Rane and Mauvin Godinho are set to be inducted into the Manohar Parrikar cabinet on Wednesday.
Party sources said the duo will be administered the oath of office and secrecy by Goa Governor Dr Mridula Sinha at Raj Bhavan.
Rane, who had deserted the Congress for its failure to form the government, despite it being the single largest party, joined the BJP on April 6. His induction into the cabinet was a foregone conclusion, and was expected to take place along with that of Godinho, who ahead of the 2017 polls had quit Congress to join BJP.
The former Valpoi MLA, who will re-contest elections, is likely to get the Health and IT portfolios. The development comes a day after he, along with other BJP leaders, held a joint meeting with BJP National President Amit Shah on Sunday.
