PANJIM: Finally, after a delay of about two months, the cabinet on Friday gave its stamp of approval to the Shack Policy 2016. Chief Minister Laxmikant Parsekar said the policy is the replica of 2013 policy with certain minor changes.
“I had given approval for shack policy two days ago due to the urgency of the matter as the tourist season is on. Today the cabinet has given ex-facto approval for the policy,” Parsekar said
“The Goa Coastal Zone Management Authority has disallowed three shacks at Palolem. Besides, GCZMA was also pressing for reducing the number of shacks on Calangute-Candolim stretch,” he stated.
He said that earlier the fees for stretch A were Rs 45,000, Rs 50,000 and Rs 55,000 for the three year term which has now been restructured to Rs 55,000, Rs 60,000 and Rs 65,000.
Similarly, he said, for stretch B it has been increased to Rs 40,000, Rs 45,000 and Rs 50,000.
instead of Rs 30,000, Rs 35,000 and Rs 40,000 for the three years respectively.
