PANJIM: The State Cabinet chaired by Dr Pramod Sawant on Friday resolved to dissolve the incumbent Goa Legislative Assembly on March 14, paving way for formation of the new 40-members House. The new Assembly has to be in place by March 15, as per the Constitutional Rule.
Sawant on Friday chaired the last meeting of the current cabinet. The new members of the House and Cabinet will be sworn in before March 15.
Speaking to media persons post meeting, the Chief Ministe said that the resolving would be sent to the Governor PS Sreedharan Pillai for issuing necessary notification to dissolve the House.
“The House will be dissolved on March 14 and accordingly new members would be sworn in,” he said.
