Cabinet okays purchase of COVID-19 drugs

PANJIM: The State Cabinet on Wednesday granted approval to the purchase of additional items towards managing buffer stock of COVID-19 drugs.

Speaking to reporters after the Cabinet meeting, Chief Minister Pramod Sawant said the additional orders were placed earlier and the cabinet gave ex-post approval to purchase COVID-19 drugs.

The cabinet decided to appoint the Tata Projects Quality Services for ISO:9001 Certification and Standardisation of the Excise Department on a pilot basis.

The cabinet also decided to engage the services on nominal basis of the Design for Change India for conducting the design thinking workshop for computer teachers orientation and design thinking Heckathon.

The cabinet approved amendments and modification to Coding and Robotics Education in Schools (CARES) scheme for students in schools.

The cabinet gave ex-post facto expenditure sanction for expenses amounting to Rs 3.30 lakh incurred for creating and releasing a special Konkani song dedicated to 60 years of Goa liberation.

The cabinet approved proposal for upgradation of playground at Santa Cruz under the Khelo India scheme of the Government of India. This work was awarded to the second lowest bidder M/s Syncott International as the lowest bidder withdrew its bid. It also gave ex-post approval for the upgradation and renovation of the Sports Complex at Colvale.

The government decided to allot 6240 square metres of land and 9567 square metres belonging to the Directorate of Agriculture to the Goa State Horticulture Corporation Limited and the Agriculture Technology Management Agency, South Goa respectively.  The land will be utilised to set up food processing units.

It also gave approval to lease a government land situated at Farmagudi to the Gopal Ganapati Devastan, Bandora for a period of 60 years, for the construction of a community hall and residence for priests.
