MARGAO: Stung with recent criticism over the functioning of the electricity department, Power Minister Nilish Cabral, without taking names, criticised former Chief Minister Luizinho Faleiro.
The Curchorem MLA said he doesn’t like and won’t take baseless criticism made against him, while hinting at Luizinho’s media briefing, where the Navelim MLA criticised the electricity department.
“I don’t like criticism on a political level. Someone took a press conference in Navelim and criticised me. I have promised Navelim people about tendering an 11 kVA underground cabling work. If there is still criticism I have the capacity to hold it back,” said Cabral while issuing a warning to his critics.
He however, clarified that he is not trying to offend people but trying to convince them to have patience while the situation is regularised.
He further pointed out that if the present MLAs, who were Power Ministers and Chief Ministers in the past, had tried to improve the infrastructure of the Electricity department, Goans would never have to encounter the problems they are facing today.
“I am the only Power Minister who has presented a white paper on the entire power scenario of Goa and it will be uploaded soon on the website,” added Cabral.
