MARGAO: Curchorem MLA Nilesh Cabral on Monday evening faced local wrath at Assolda when two youth allegedly pushed and manhandled him.
In a telephonic conversation with Herald, Cabral confirmed about the incident.
He said he was attending a function when two youth, who he claimed were drunk and associated with Curchorem Congress ticket aspirant Rosario, abused him.
He brushed off the incident as being normal and alleged that, “These two drunken men came up to me and used filthy language. But I ignored them”.
When asked whether it has something to do with politics, he replied, “Yes. They are the supporters of the Curchorem Congress ticket aspirant Rosario, who have troubled us in the same manner during ZP elections”.
Cabral informed that he had filed a case against some persons involved in the previous incident and the same is being investigated. However, Cabral rubbished reports of any incident of damage to his vehicle.
