CAC approves proposals worth Rs 73 crore

PANJIM: The Cabinet Advisory Committee (CAC), via circulation, has approved financial proposals worth over Rs 73 crore pertaining to various departments.

PANJIM: The Cabinet Advisory Committee (CAC), via circulation, has approved financial proposals worth over Rs 73 crore pertaining to various departments. 
Sanctions were granted to Water Resources (WRD), Public Works (PWD), Electricity, Tourism and Information and Publicity. 
The Electricity Department had submitted a proposal of over Rs 40.31 crore towards work of conversion of existing overhead 11KV line to an underground system, bifurcating of 11KV Torda feeder and Chogm road feeder emanating from 33/11KV Porvorim sub-station covering major portion of Porvorim plateau area. 
The WRD proposal, amounting to Rs 8.65 crore, was towards construction of multipurpose cyclone shelter (MPCS) at Porvorim and Mandrem.
CAC approved Tourism Department’s Rs 16 crore first installment to Goa Tourism Development Corporation (GTDC) for development of tourism related infrastructure in the State. Rs 6 crore has been sanctioned to Information and Publicity for release of grants to Entertainment Society of Goa (ESG) to meet the expenditure of the International Film Festival of India (IFFI) 2017. 
As far as PWD is concerned, an amount of Rs 2.12 crore has been sanctioned towards the work of strengthening and hot mixing of roads from Davorlim junction to Rawandfond junction in Margao.
