Cadre of higher education gets government approval

The State Government has given its approval for constitution of the cadre of Directorate of Higher Education which has come into effect from this month.
The following institutions/offices will form the cadre:  Office of the Directorate of Higher Education;  Government College of Arts Science and Commerce, Sanquelim;  Government College of Arts, Science and Commerce, Quepem;  Government College of Arts, Science and Commerce, Khandola;  Government College of Arts and Commerce, Pernem;  Goa College of Home Science, Campal, Panjim and Goa College of Music, Altinho, Panjim.
An order issued states the Director, Directorate of Higher Education, shall be Head of the Department for all the above institutions/offices for administrative purpose.
All the staff of Directorate of Education and other departments presently working in the office of the directorate and six government colleges who have given their options to continue in the cadre shall be absorbed in the respective posts along with the staff appointed by the directorate and six government colleges under administrative control of the directorate by issuance of a specific absorption order to this effect.
The seniority list of the absorbed staff members along with the staff of the directorate, six colleges under the directorate’s cadre shall be prepared on the basis of the date of regular appointment/promotion in the respective posts in cadre of their respective parent departments.
The staff of other departments presently working in the directorate and the government colleges mentioned which are under the administrative control of the directorate shall be repatriated to their parent departments as and when the posts in the respective cadres are created or fallen vacant on account of retirement or otherwise as the case may be in the respective parent departments.
