CAG report, Economic Survey to be tabled in Assembly

PANJIM: The Comptroller and Auditor
General (CAG) of India report 2014-15 and the State Economic Survey are most
likely to be tabled during the monsoon session of the State Legislative Assembly,
beginning July 25.

The Assembly has till date
received 2212 questions – 1550 unstarred and 662 starred – with 12 bills and
two ordinances to be placed on the floor of the House. The 15-day session,
which will probably be the last of the current BJP-led government, will
conclude on August 12.

The Assembly’s Business
Advisory Committee chaired by Speaker Anant Shet met on Monday morning to
discuss the business of the House.

Speaking to media persons,
Shet said they have so far received 2212 questions from the legislators and the
ballot process is still on. The last date for submitting questions is July 20.
“There are 12 bills and two ordinances that will be placed,” he said adding
that the CAG report and economic survey would be also placed on the floor of
the House.

The crucial CAG report and
Economic Survey were not tabled during the Budget session in March, a move that
was criticized by the opposition. Chief Minister Laxmikant Parsekar had assured
to table both reports during the monsoon session.

The ordinance on
regularization of unauthorized structures would be placed in the House by
converting it into legislation. “The private members day – Friday – will have a
full day session with discussion on demands,” Shet said.
