MAPUSA: Irked over irregular water supply, the residents of Duelwada, Dabholwada and Udowado in Caisua marched to the PWD office and confronted the junior engineer, on Thursday.
The residents claimed that since the past two-and-half months, they have not received regular water supply. They further complained that since last year despite several complaints to the PWD officials be it JE or EE they have not received any response from them till date.
They said Anjuna, Vagator and Zorin areas receive regular water supply. The residents complained that they have not receive regular water supply and are compelled to buy packaged water and hire private tankers to meet their daily requirements.
The residents claimed that the hotels receive water round-the-clock however; the common man is made to suffer. They accused the valve operators of manipulation and panchas of playing politics over water supply issue.
The locals said they receive water only at night and questioned the JE if there is no scheduled time for releasing water.
“We have sent letters to JE and EE but till date we have not received any response,” they claimed.
