MARGAO: Benaulim MLA Caetano (Caitu) Silva met Salcete Block Development Officer (BDO) Uday Prabhudesai on Tuesday and will inform Chief Minister Laxmikant Parsekar about the developments and protests of the people of Carmona on Wednesday morning. Silva has asked Parsekar to revoke the construction licence given to Raheja.
“I met the BDO after I was told what had happened and he showed me the notice that he said was to be delivered at the residence of the panchayat secretary. I have asked him to inquire into the matter properly,” Silva said.
He added that he had an appointment with the CM on Monday but had to postpone it as he went to meet the Town Planner along with the locals and that the CM was not available in Panjim when he had gone to his office later that day.
He also said that he had already submitted his objections and forwarded the Carmona villagers’ resolution to the concerned ministers’ offices and will be discussing the matter with Parsekar, Dy CM Francis D’Souza and Panchayat minister Dayanand Mandrekar and ask them to take strict action and to look into the matter from all angles.
Silva added that he had asked the govt to explore all measures possible to bring the facts to light and take action accordingly. The Benaulim MLA also said that the person who met him was Ronny Rodrigues and not Rodney as he had said earlier.
