PANJIM: A 642-page chargesheet has been filed before the Goa Children’s Court against Suchana Seth, CEO of Bengaluru-based AI company for allegedly killing her four-year-old-son in January this year.
Statement of 59 witnesses have been recorded by the police in the matter. According to the police, the minor son’s death was attributed to shock and respiratory asphyxia.
Suchana has been chargesheeted under Sections 302 and 201 of IPC and Section 8 of the Goa Children’s Act 2003. The case was investigated and the chargesheeted by Calangute PI Paresh Naik. The accused is currently remanded in judicial custody. As per the chargesheet, Suchana allegedly committed murder of her minor son while staying at a hotel at Candolim, packed the body in her luggage trolley bag and fled from the hotel in a taxi, thereby trying to destroy evidence.
The incident occurred on January 7 this year. After the hotel housekeeping staff noticed some blood stains in the room, the matter was reported to the police, who immediately contacted the taxi driver and police questioned Suchana about whereabout of her minor son. She told the police that she has sent the child to her friend’s place at Margao. But when verified the police found that the address was fake.
The Calangute Police then told the driver to drive the vehicle to the nearest Aimangala Police Station in Chitradurga district, Karnataka. The police later brought the accused to Goa on transit warrant for investigation.
The police has stated that the investigation conducted so far and as per post-mortem examination report and the final opinion as to cause of the death, it is seen that Suchana killed her minor son by stragulated him in a hotel room at Candolim and thereby committed the murder. The accused also tried to destroy the evidence of the offence.
