CALANGUTE: The Calangute police conducted an extensive tenant verification drive at Kobrawado on Thursday and checked if house and room owners have complied with rules and regulations while letting out their premises to migrants and guests in the coastal belt.
“Around 50 people were asked to report to the police station as they had not submitted their details to the police as it is mandatory by law and because their movement in the area were found to be suspicious,” said Paresh Naik.
Calangute Police staff visited every house to check if tenant verification procedure has been complied with and asked the owners to come forward and complete their
formalities within 24 hours failing which action would be initiated against them.
“Such drives will be randomly conducted in the jurisdiction in order for effective policing and to conduct 100 per cent tenant verification,” stated the PI adding that such drives are necessary to keep a tab on anti social elements prowling the area.
