CALANGUTE: The Calangute police on Saturday fined a parent of one minor boy with Rs 10,000 after Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant announced said that parents of minors driving or riding without licences would be held accountable and penalised for the traffic offences by their children.
Over the weekend, the Calangute police have detained three scooters wherein minors were riding them.
“These parents are responsible for accidents and we will take more action in future,” Calangute Police Station Police Inspector Dattaguru Sawant said.
The scooters have been kept at the Calangute Police Station for further action.
