CALANGUTE: The Calangute Village Panchayat will soon have a data of total number of houses, restaurants and guest houses within its jurisdiction.
The panchayat has hired a private agency to undertake the detailed survey of the houses, restaurants, guest houses and other commercial establishments in its jurisdiction so that proper data can be gathered.
The panchayat too has issued a public notice about the survey. The agency is expected to complete the survey in two months’ time.
Sarpanch Joseph Sequeira said that the survey was necessary as the panchayat had not conducted any such survey for the past many years.
“Teams of two members are moving around. Identity cards are issued to them by the panchayat. They have already completed survey in two wards, and are expected to complete the entire village survey in two months’ time and provide us the data, which will be available with the panchayat office,” the sarpanch informed.
He further appealed to the people of Calangute to co-operate with the agency while the survey is being conducted.
