MAPUSA: The Mapusa Police on Sunday retrieved the body of a seven-year-old at Olaulim, Pomburpa.
The boy’s father Vijay Gaonkar (47) had jumped along with him from the Calvim Bridge on Friday afternoon.
The rescue team had recovered Vijay’s body lying from below the bridge on Saturday morning.
The police conducted the panchanama and later handed over the body to the relatives for last rites, which was performed in the village amid tears and in a gloomy atmosphere.
