MARGAO:  The Camurlim gram sabha on Sunday chaired by Sarapnch Siddhi Saulo Naik made a strong plea for a full time panchayat secretary stating that presently villagers were put in hardships as there was no permanent secretary.
Deputy Sarpanch Conceicao Dias informed the aggrieved gram sabha members that the panchayat had demanded a full time secretary from Panchayat Minister Laximikat Parsekar who has promised to solve the problem within two months but regretted that the same continued and promised to take up the issue with the authorities again.
Villagers raised the issue of the dilapidated condition of the roads in the village pointing out that road dug out for laying underground cable were in pathetic condition.
Villagers cultivating fields said that authorities had failed to take remedial measures to stop flooding of the fields despite a joint meeting held along with local MLA.
Gram sabha members strongly objected to ration cards being issued to migrants demanding to seek clarification on same from mamlatdar.
Earlier, the secretary presented the financial report for the year ending 2013. Gram sabha was also informed about the works being taken under MGRG.
by the panchayat and also on proposed works by the panchayat development committee.
Villagers also questioned as to why the changes suggested by the village committee, have not been incorporated in RP 2021, even after one year of making those suggestions. A resolution was adopted demanding that the suggested changes be incorporated in regard to corrections made in respect of water bodies,  fields, roads etc and that the same be notified in six months.
