MARGAO: Claiming the Canacona taluka has remained an undeveloped taluka, Goa Pradesh Congress Committee has demanded to undertake maintenance work at Kadamba Transport Corporation Limited bus stand at Canacona immediately.
Janardhan Bhandari, General Secretary of GPCC informed that two days back a KTC bus had rammed into two parked private buses after the driver lost control of the bus as uneven surfaced grating covers pierced its wheels on the bus stand at Canacona.
“The condition of the bus stand is very pathetic which shows the government’s apathy,” he charged.
He informed that on Friday a delegation of vigilant residents of Canacona met the Chairman and the Managing Director of the KTCL to submit a representation, and to appraise him about the ground realities at Canacona KTC bus stand.
In the memorandum the present deteriorating condition of the KTC bus stand is mentioned in detail. The ground tiles are cracked or uneven all over, thus making it difficult for the commuters to walk on. The toilets in the complex are in bad condition and present unsanitary conditions makes the lives of commuters very miserable as entire areas stinks.
