MARGAO: From January to July this year, the Canacona traffic cell has booked 63 cases of overspeeding against motorists, collecting fines of Rs. 63,000 from the violators. From August 2 to date, the cell has booked 24 cases of overspeeding, said PI Mahesh Velip.
In addition, 59 cases of drunken driving were booked in Canacona till July, and 18 cases in the 18 days of August alone. All drunken driving cases have been sent to Court, Velip said.
The cell also recorded violations like riding without a helmet, driving without a valid license and ferrying passengers in goods carriers, among others.
