PERNEM: A candidate and counting agent in Ward No 4 of Parcem village in Pernem Taluka alleged of manipulation the ballot paper.

The candidate said that there were 15 ballot papers for Ward No 4. However, during the counting of votes, only three ballot papers were bought to the counting station and opened before the candidates while the remaining 12 were rejected.

“How can the Returning Officer (RO) reject the ballot paper votes before producing them before the candidates and counting agent? Does the RO have the authority to so do? This is a clear misuse of government machinery for manipulation of votes,” candidate Sajjan Dabhale said.
